CPR Training Sonoma County

Are You Due This Year?

April, 2019

From: Allen James

Some folks have read my January newsletter and have planned their CPR/First Aid training during the first quarter of 2019. Bravo to them! However, some may not have recollected the two year cycle of the CPR/First Aid training certifications. Are you due this year? Let’s not have any last minute calendar surprises! We still have dates open for 2019, so call or email with any date requests or questions you may have.

Remember, we have quality instruction with a focus on orchestrating learning that includes a process on how to ”think” about an emergency and then providing a “tool box” of CPR and First Aid skills. This training prepares your employees to respond to both corporate and individual emergencies and enables them to prepare their families for natural disasters. What a wonderful benefit to pass on to your employees and their families.

OPIOID-ASSOCIATED EMERGENCY UPDATE

Naloxone (Narcan) is an antidote to an opioid overdose. It works fast and has saved many lives. It has been able to be prescribed by an M.D. since it became an FDA approved medication in 1971. Because few physicians were prescribing Naloxone to legal opioid users, California passed a law starting in January 2019, to encourage physicians to offer a prescription to their patients. You may have family members or friends who use opioids for a medical condition. Keep in mind that accidents can happen; the immediate response is Naloxone. Naloxone is prescribed by physicians, furnished by pharmacists directly, and/or distributed by community-based programs.

Please take the time to confirm the above information with your M.D. and/or pharmacist.
