CPR Training Sonoma County

Letter to The Editor

May 8, 2012 by Allen James

A Letter to the Editor was published in the Ukiah Daily Journal by his daughter, Jo Torreano. It read as follows: “On Saturday, March 31, my dad suffered a cardiac arrest, collapsed and flat lined. Luckily, he was at Friedman's and nearly every employee was CPR ready.

Tami Bartolomei, who is the program director for Hands On Network and teaches CPR, and Cindy Nelson, a department manager at Friedman's, were able to revive my dad until the Ukiah Fire Department could arrive and take him overland to the capable people at UVMC. The caring faces I saw from Friedman employees and people from the community who reached out to me at this most terrible time really touched my soul.

My dad is doing great and I, along with my whole family, want to express how grateful we are to the wonderful people of Ukiah.

We can bring that training to you!

We begin our training with how to think about an emergency and then we give you a toolbox of skills. We call it the “Process”. The Process provides you with an operational structure that can keep you on track until the EMTs arrive.

You, as the first responder, keep the ten minute survival window open until relieved by advanced training. As first responder, your part in this process is crucial; that is why good training is critical.

We can provide that training. Remember - Life Matters.
